Where are the best places to meet new people in the Los Angeles area?

-I'm 21 and in a month me and my friend (who is 22) are moving to the LA area. We don't know anyone there and we wanted to know what the local hot spots are for people our age. Good restaurants, clubs, the best beaches, etc... Thanks!Good luck as I know it can be quite a culture shock for some people.

I'd spend time at many beaches along the coast. Use a map and hit them all!

Make sure you frequent orange county. not a very far drive, like an hour depending on famous LA traffic.

Go to the tons of restaurants all around the place. LA has a different city every 15 minutes in every direction. LA is HUGE.

Be careful and have fun. Enjoy the everyday sun.

Hard to list anything because there is EVERYTHING....you just have to find it.
Go up to runyon canyon for a walk with your friend, it will likely end up being a regular routine. Lots of locals up there of all ages. Also I would definitely consider taking a class, I made most of my friends in LA through classes and jobs. It's not always easy to make friends at night clubs etc, finding a boyfriend/girlfriend yes... friends... probably not. Hope you guys have a great time and good luck, you'll love it. Also... live in Santa Monica if you can afford it. It's beautiful and a really fun place to be.
This may sound strange but go to Anaheim and head over to Disneyland. There's always a tourist who wants to have their photo taken, so make conversation with them and make a friend or two! Offer to go on rides with them once you know them pretty well.
I have found coffee houses such as Starbucks are great places to meet new people. It has a relaxed atmosphere and people tend to talk to each other there.
